Due to the Festive Season, the 6th Mx5Malta Event was held on Sunday the 16th of December. We met at the rain soaked Ta’ Xbiex Car Park in front of the Black Pearl at 10.00AM with little hope of an enormous attendance because of the rain. But luckily we were quite a number and some even ventured to drive Top Down. From there on we went for a Fun Run towards Sliema, Coast Road, Birguma, Mosta, Ta’ Qali, Zebbug, Qormi, Luqa, Hal-Far (where we stopped for a coffee) and ended up in Ghar Lapsi for one lovely lunch.
Thanks for ALL those who attended, you made a Rainy Day Special!!!
Apart from the Fun Run and Xmas Lunch to be held on Sunday 16th December, I wish to inform you that Paqpaq will be organising the second edition of Paqpaqli Ghall-Istrina to help raise funds for Istrina 2007. The event is going to be held on Sunday 23rd December inside the MFCC structure at Ta’ Qali.
As happened in the previous edition, Paqpaqli Ghall-Istrina are planning to hold a spectacular static show where also local motoring-related clubs and organizations are invited to be represented. The difference this year is that the show will be indoors, under the tent structure, and the car park will host a number of activities for the entertainment of those present. Paqpaqli Ghall-Istrina will also be offering the ‘Dream Rides for Istrina’, where people will be giving a donation to Istrina in return for a ride in the car of their dreams.
Last year, the sum of Lm5000 was collected for this worthy cause. This year, more united and motivated than ever before, Paqpaqli Ghall-Istrina have set themselves a challenge to collect an even bigger sum.
Paqpaqli Ghall-Istrina have formally invited MX5Malta to participate in this event. You would appreciate that space under the tent could be limited so your early confirmation would be greatly appreciated. For those who would like to leave their MX5 on display and want to take a look around, I shall be attending to the MX5s all day long.
If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me on 79039039.
Thanks for your attention and whilst waiting for a reply,
Almost one tenth of a kilometre in MX5s if measured, parked after each other, bumper to bumper!!!!! What a lovely sight for my eyes. MX5s of all years and colours.
At 10.00AM we met near the Mc Donald’s Airport Car Park. Some coffee and then we took the route via Hal-Far, Birzebbugia, (where we landed up in some 15 minutes stalled in traffic), Marsascala and ending up in Vittoriosa Waterfront for a nice leisurely meal. Pity it rained a little and soaked our cars, but the fun was still there and I can say I've enjoyed the company of ALL who were with us for this event, both regulars and also new ones!!!
Thanks to all for joining us mates, you've made my day a brighter one.
At the 4th MX5Malta Meeting, we met at 10.00AM beside the bus terminus Rabat opposite BOV/HSBC. Some new members joined in!!! This Club is getting bigger and bigger by the day. We drove through new Mtrafa Roads, headed towards Mgarr and targetet Ghajn Tuffieha (wher parking is hell). Soon we left to take on Mellieha Back Roads to Ghadira, headed towards Xemxija/St Pauls Bay Bypass, drive up Coast Road and made a stop at Bahar ic-Caghaq. Some coffees and drinks (some bought veggies) and off we went again to make a final stop at Valletta for a lovely lunch and some beer. It was another lovely event; thanks to all who came along; you always make the 1st Sunday of the month special guys & gals. See you all for the next one!!!!!
The 3rd MX5Malta Event was another big success!!!!
First we met at Luxol Grounds and we took some photos of our lovely MX5s, sitting there undisturbed enjoying the lovely Maltese Sunshine!!! From there, we drove all the way to Cirkewwa in which drive we used the Golden Bay to Mellieha freshly tarmacKed road. After a few cold drinks, we made our way towards Valletta Waterfront where we parked our cars inside and had a lovely plate of pasta accompanied by a large amount of cold drinks!!!
Thanks for all who joined us; your companionship has been a great pleasure to all involved!!!!
Sunday 5th August arrived and early in the morning (8.30AM is a bit early for me) began my way from home to Bahar ic-Caghaq to meet the others. I was there first (what a surprise!!!) Around 5 minutes later, the others came along one by one. Ths event we've had 5 new additions, wonderful people with equally wonderful cars.
At around 10.00 we began our way to Sliema, Msida, Mriehel ByPass, Attard, Down to Mosta again, Via Burmarrad and then taking the new road towards Xemxija. From there we took the road to Golden Bay but in the middle of it, turned towards Mellieha and then towards Cirkewwa where we stopped for some drinks and then took some photos of some of the cars that attended. (Many thanks to that kind policeman who let us park a little illegally to take the pic)
From there we went on our way to Bahar ic-Caghaq, this time via the Coast Road.
I can say that this was another lovely event and that David Adrian & I shall try hard to be as original as possible in the next one!!!
Hope to see you there next time to enjoy MX5Malta together
Well, the first event came and passed. We met in the scorching afternoon sun of Ta' Qali and took some photographs for Nitro magazine. We had the pleasurable company of a German couple with their white MX5 (who kindly provided beer for all of us whist photos were being taken THANKS A LOT), the presence of David Gasan of Gasan Enterprises Ltd. as well as other people with colorful cars and equally colorful characters. From Ta' Qali we went for a cruise to the Coast Road, to Tower Road, to Ta' Xbiex and back to Paceville for a nice cold beer (this time provided by Adrian Muscat Azzopardi of DMX 500, MANY THANKS Adrian).
Pictures of this event will be posted on this website shortly.
